Terms of use

The agreement between you and What’s My Sky?: what the service is, what it is not, and how we both use it.

Draft — to be reviewed by the owner

This page describes the terms for using What’s My Sky? as the app is built today (23 September 2026). It has not been approved yet, and the items in square brackets are placeholders the owner will complete.

These terms

These terms apply to the What’s My Sky? website and its iOS and Android apps, run by [owner name or company] (“we”). By using the service, or by creating an account, you agree to them. The privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

What What’s My Sky? is

What’s My Sky? is Astronomy-Based Astrology: it measures the real sky — the positions of the Sun, the Moon and the planets, computed by an astronomy engine validated against NASA JPL Horizons — and then offers astrology’s traditional interpretations of that geometry, in the tropical and sidereal zodiacs. Astrology is presented as an interpretive tradition, not as science: nothing here claims that the sky causes or foretells events in your life.

Not advice

Nothing in What’s My Sky? is medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional who knows your situation. Do not make health, money, legal or safety decisions on the strength of a reading. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line; Ask the Sky will point you to one.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Use an email address that is yours. We email you only to confirm it and, when you ask, to reset your password; we send no marketing email.
  • One account per person; you are responsible for what happens under yours.
  • You can export your data and delete your account at any time in Settings.

Fair use

Please do not:

  • break the law with the service, or use it to harass, deceive or harm anyone;
  • try to get around its security, sign in as someone else, or reach data that is not yours;
  • overload it: scrape it in bulk, automate Ask the Sky or readings, or work around its limits (for example, Ask the Sky answers 20 questions a day per account);
  • use it to build a competing dataset or to train AI models;
  • ask Ask the Sky for content that is unlawful or harmful — it will decline.

Readings written by AI

Readings and Ask the Sky answers are written by an AI model (Claude Haiku 4.5, by Anthropic) from facts our astronomy engine computes, under a published rulebook. Every number in a reading is checked against the computation before it is shown, but AI-written text can still be wrong, incomplete or oddly put. Treat readings as reflection, not instruction. The positions themselves come from the engine, not the AI.

You may share public readings (the day’s sky, regions and signs) with a link to the page. Your personal readings are for your own use.

Your content

Your birth details, settings and questions remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the service to you, as the privacy policy describes. You are responsible for what you type into Ask the Sky; please keep other people’s personal information out of it.

Our content and credits

The design, text, software and readings of What’s My Sky? belong to us or our licensors. The astronomical data, code libraries, textures and typefaces we build on are used under their own licences, listed in Credits and licences.

Notifications and the apps

The morning note is optional; turn it off in Settings, or in your browser or phone settings. If you use the iOS or Android app, the App Store’s or Google Play’s terms also apply to downloading and using it. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app or its content.

Changes and availability

We improve What’s My Sky? continually, so features change; we may also pause the service for maintenance. It is currently free of charge. When these terms change we will post the new version here with its date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.

Ending

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, usually after a warning; if we close the service itself, we will give you notice and time to download your data.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that readings will suit any particular purpose. We are not liable for decisions you make on the strength of a reading, or for indirect or consequential losses; otherwise our total liability is limited to [limit]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [governing law], and the courts of [courts] have jurisdiction, without taking away the protection of the law of the country where you live as a consumer.
